Junior Claire Sampson is a vital player for the girls golf team, earning a varsity spot each year she’s competed.

In her first two seasons, the team has earned Marion County championships, and last year they placed third in the Mid-State Conference.

She also participates in a league over the summer, competing in 18-hole tournaments in addition to daily practice and weekend outings.

Sampson takes on a leadership role within the team, keeping everyone in line and answering questions so coach Andy Sebold doesn’t have to.

“They say I’m like the mom of the team,” Sampson says.
