However, her recent statements and behavior seem to contrast with the empowering persona she presented to the world. After the 2024 election, Minaj voiced her support for President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance; she made a controversial appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, sparking even more backlash. This controversy all culminated on January 18, 2026, in her homophobic tweet toward American Television journalist Don Lemon.
