On Saturday May 9th, 2026, Perry Meridian High School’s 15th annual music festival, Rock for the Earth, was held with great acclaim. Students form solo acts, or bands to perform in front of festival attendees. During the evening, multiple bands perform with many returning for the 2025-2026 event. One band however, quickly made their mark during their debut performance.
Belmont Avenue is a new rock music group formed earlier this year. Consisting of vocalists Sebastian Roberts and Quinn Wright, acoustic guitarist Olsen Burr, bassist Nikolas Bauerle and drummer Parker Costello, Belmont Avenue originally started as a two man group between Burr and Bauerle. Later, the two brought on Roberts, Wright and Costello, bringing the band together. “It kinda just clicked really nice,” junior Roberts said about one of their practices. Roberts described his bandmates as “passionate,” finding their drive for the music they make inspiring.
Practices for R4TE could be described as “driven,” junior Bauerle says. A lot of their practice time is dedicated to writing lyrics and new riffs for music. For Burr, every session is filled with energy and dedication, “It was so much fun [together],” he says. Like Burr, his other bandmates also put in the very same effort he does to refine their music into something worthwhile.
During their debut performance, Belmont Avenue won the competition amongst the exceptional bands that were there that night. With their win behind them, the only question is what lies next for Belmont Avenue? One thing’s for sure, Belmont Avenue’s music is something everyone should experience.
